Samsung WB800F pictures and hands-on

CES 2013: Wi-Fi over-all

Samsung's moving in hard if this involves camera connectivity, with all of its new compacts coming packed with Wi-Fi, such as the WB800F model.

The WB800F is rather large within the hands due to the considerable 21x optical contact lens. We are not speaking superzoom type of bulk, but because the lens provides a 23-484mm equivalent zoom it's certainly got a bit of size into it and protrudes out when at its maximum zoom. Operation is smooth through the range, that is controlled through the zoom toggle on the top from the camera.

But it is the Wi-Fi which will grab most attention. Your camera can sync with Wi-Fi systems or straight to a smartphone for fast discussing. And like other Samsung implementations it's pretty quick to operate - we shared a load of images to Samsung's Wise Camera iPad application within minutes.

Because the camera includes a touch screen it's extra simple to tap the discussing method, while an online keyboard makes equally light work of tapping in passwords and so on. Well, we assume it'll - Samsung already had everything paired and able to go in the show therefore the password part we've got to bypass.

The whitened form of the WB800F that people handled is unquestionably quite the looker, but be it picture quality will have a similar sheen because the camera's exterior is one thing we have not had the opportunity to check on up to now.
